Probably the most fundamental question you should be asking yourself is why am I doing this to myself, or why should I begin doing this to myself. I often quote an unknown author thus, "I'm not going to tell you that it will be easy - I'm telling you that it will be worth it!".
So that begs the question, worth what?
Maybe this subject has been blogged to death but when I see so many people who are obese and de-conditioned I am troubled and writing helps me somewhat. Fitness will give those who put forth the effort nothing short of life itself. A life worth living because it will be a life where you feel good, or like my mother always says, when you feel nothing at all. When you feel nothing your body is in a state of peace and equilibrium. Nothing hurts and everything works. Life's functional activities move apace and you encounter no practical limits to what you need to do. You will not have the capacity to perform like a Navy Seal but you don't need to. Only Navy Seals require that level of strength and mental fortitude. You and I and %99.99 of the world need a basic level of physical and mental fitness to be successful human beings.
Start moving! Begin by walking daily and add strength conditioning like push-ups, sit-ups, squats and lunges. If you cannot develop a simple program by yourself, hire a professional.
It is a very small price to pay for a successful, enjoyable life!
